On regular visits to Royal Armouries in Leeds, I get to view beautiful craftsmanship with suits of armour, embellishments and weaponry. The museums collection has many rifles, pistols, swords and a variety of armour for different occasions. Amongst these exhibitions are daily activities, talks and demonstrations given by the learning assistants and on a regular basis, themed weekends, horse shows and jousting tournaments. As well as all these aspects of the museum, paintings present men and soldiers in their armour, horses and weapons and enhance the amazing experience that any visitor receives with their day at the museum. Above are some of my favourite paintings from the whole exhibition, and I would highly recommend a visit to Leeds, for anyone with a special interest in war, history and and the historical styles of painting.
