When visiting Castle Howard, I knew what paintings would be there, as my parents and I had previously visited the stately home twice before. Castle Howard has a beautiful interior holding beautiful portraits and landscapes of the Georgian era, perhaps due to the famous Georgiana Cavandish, the Duchess of Devonshire’s daughter marrying into the Howard family. Above is a portrait of Georgiana (the daughter) herself, and a few other figures of the Howard family showing the Georgian portraiture and style of many of the other paintings at Castle Howard.
This stately home is always a pleasure to visit and one of my favourites to visit in order to admire the talent of Georgian artists.
