Life in Squares, 2015

This BBC series from 2015 is a 3 episode mini series that shows the life of Vanessa and Virginia Stephen, who later became Vanessa Bell and Virginia Woolf. The central story is that of the sisters’ relationship as they both moved into different paths with their husbands and how the met and lived amongst the male members of the famous Bloomsbury group.

That being so, the most influential members include Lytton Strachey, Duncan Grant, Clive Bell, Leonard Woolf, and later on the ‘outsider’ David ‘Bunny’ Garnett.

This biopic spans from the beginnings of the First World War and follows the members through to the 1940s showing the impact of people’s early impressions and choices. This is a series I would highly recommend as this shows the depth and authenticity of the relationships and the development of the relationships as the members drift apart.
